WEAPONS

DARKBREAKER

Darkbreaker's hilt is inlaid with a stylized gold depiction of the rising sun. When the command word, "Daybreak" is spoken in draconic, the sword sheds bright yellow light in a 20' radius.

Rapier +1
Caster Level: 3
Prerequisites: Craft Magic Arms and Armor
Market Price: 1,000 gp
Cost to Create: 500 gp + 500 XP
Weight: 1 lb.

ICERAZOR

This unholy +2 short sword has a blade of ice that constantly drips numbingly- cold water. When it scored a critical hit, the end of the blade snapped off and remained in the body of the target (the sword immediately reformed a new blade end). This lodged portion of the blade inflicted 1 negative level per round it remained in the target, and each negative level so inflicted healed the bearer of the sword 5 hit points of damage. Removing the shard is a move-equivalent action requiring a successful DC 15 Heal check.

Caster Level: 9th
Prerequisites: Craft Magic Arms and Armor, cone of cold, enervation, unholy blight, creator must be evil
Market Price: 50,310 gp
Cost to Create: 25,155 gp + 2000 XP.

OATHBOW

Of elven make, this white +1 longbow whispers “Swift defeat to my enemies” in Elven when nocked and pulled. If the firer swears aloud to slay her target, the bow’s whisper becomes the low shout “Swift death to those who have wronged me.” Against such a sworn enemy, the bow has a +3 enhancement bonus, and arrows launched from it deal double normal damage (and x4 on a critical hit instead of the normal x3). However, if the firer does not deal the killing blow on the sworn enemy within 24 hours, the bow falls inert for one week, during which it possesses no magical abilities or bonuses at all. Further, the character is demoralized and suffers a -1 morale penalty to attack rolls, saving throws, and skill checks during that week.

Caster Level: 15th
Prerequisites: Craft Magic Arms and Armor, creator must be an elf
Market Price: 27,875 gp
Cost to Create: 14,125 gp + 1,100 XP.

RUNEBLADE

The Runeblade, first forged by Mordacious Tartaran, has since become the traditional weapon of an Arcane Knight, and most Knights seek to forge their own personal 'Blade as soon as possible. A Runeblade is usually a very personal item to it's creator, and most Arcane Knights are buried with theirs. Non-Arcane Knights wielding these blades had best explain themselves quickly, for it hints that they have robbed the grave of a Knight.

Most Runeblades are Longswords, and function as such. The length of the blade is smooth and on it can be scribed one spell as if it were a scroll. A spell so scribed has only half the normal materials cost. (Experience point and material component costs remain the same.) Once the spell has been cast, the blade is once again blank and another spell may be scribed thereon.

The most amazing feature of the Runeblade is it's ability to attach itself to one single Rod or Wand. Any touch effects granted by a Rod and any Wands with touch spells in them may be delivered using the blade (ex. If attached to a Wand of Shocking Grasp, the shock could be delivered in addition to the blade's damage).

Once so attached, it may only be seperated by a command word specified at creation.

While unattached the 'Blade functions as a Longsword. When attached to a Rod or Wand, the 'Blade functions as a Greatsword, the extra length adding to the sword's grip (the blade also magically lengthens).

The Runeblade has an enhancement bonus of +1 to +5 at the discretion of it's creator. The creator's level must be at least three times the intended bonus.

Caster Level: 7th
Prerequisites: Craft Magic Arms and Armor, Scribe Scroll, Arcane Lock, creator's level must be at least three times the intended bonus.
Cost to Create: 9668gp + 774 XP (+1), 12,668 + 1014 XP (+2), 17,688 + 1414 XP (+3), 24,668gp + 1974 XP (+4), 33,668gp + 2694 XP (+5)

SWORD OF UNDEAD BINDING

The sword of undead binding, also known as the Kraggash (after the necromancer archlord who created it), possesses the ability to capture and control the undead. It is believed that six of these short swords were fashioned–one for Kraggash and each of his lieutenants–but only three have been recently accounted for. Each has five black gems embedded in its blade.

Shortsword +2 (critical range 19-20 and x3 damage vs undead)
Caster Level: 17
Prerequisites: Craft Magic Arms and Armor, control undead, halt undead, soul bind
Market Price: 150,310 gp
Cost to Create: 75,310 gp + 6000 XP

The Kraggash has a +2 enhancement bonus, and has the ability to score critical hits against undead. When wielded against undead, it has a threat range of 19-20, and causes triple damage on a successful critical hit. When an undead creature is slain by the Kraggash (via a critical hit or not), the wielder can choose to try and draw his victim up into the blade through the dark magics of the gems (Will negates DC 16; success means the creature is slain as normal). The Kraggash can contain up to 10 HD of undead creatures. As the blade fills with captured spirits, the gems begin pulsing with a smoky white haze. Once full, the sword can no longer draw in any undead until one or more creatures within have been expelled. Such expulsion can be done at any time, and destroys the expelled creature utterly.

Each captive undead can be summoned forth from the Kraggash once every seven days. Summoned creatures possess all their normal abilities, but only half their hit points, and are under the complete telepathic control of the Kraggash's wielder. After an hour has passed, or the wielder wills it, the creature returns to the blade in a swirl of white mist. While inside the blade, the creature is dormant, and all its injuries are healed. Creatures killed outside the blade are destroyed permanently.

TALIKAMBO ("Stormheart")

The short-spear -- called Talikambo ("Stormheart") -- is a piece of dark tropical wood engraved with stylized lightning bolts, rain and storm clouds. Barely visible in the storm clouds is the face of a Touvman with hair made of water, and eyes that seem filled with laughter.

Short-spear +1
Caster Level: 3
Prerequisites: Craft Magic Arms and Armor
Market Price: 1,000 gp
Cost to Create: 500 gp + 500 XP
Weight: 1 lb.

Once per day, the wielder can deliver a shocking blow through the spear for 2d6 points of damage, in addition to any normal damage the spear might do. This damage is not doubled as part of a critical hit.

WAR CLEAVER

Originally crafted by Ogrima mages for use in the Ogre Wars, this oddly balanced weapon requires a minimum Strength of 15 to wield. While brandishing a war cleaver, an individual cannot move more than five feet in a round and always acts last in a round. (This is overcome with the Exotic Weapon Proficiency (War Cleaver) feat; availible only to ogrima warriors.) A war cleaver delivers 2d6 damage and threatens a x4 critical on a 17-20. These blades always have the Mighty Cleaving ability (one additional Cleave/round), though none is known to be enchanted above a +1 enchantment bonus.

Caster Level: 11th
Prerequisites: Craft Magic Arms and Armor, Cleave, divine power, keen edge, harm,
Market Price: 1,000 gp
Weight: 30 lbs.

WINTERBLADE

Wielded by the commanders of the northern leagues during the Ogre Wars, these +2 frost long swords have a continual flame spell cast upon them as well. The illusory flames do no damage but often trick enemies into guarding themselves against fire magic instead of cold.

Caster Level: 8th
Prerequisites: Craft Magic Arms and Armor, ice storm, continual flame.
Market Price: 18,000 gp.
Weight: 2 lbs.

WITCHBLADE

Upon striking a foe with this +1 longsword, the wielder can choose to force the opponent to make a Will save (DC 13) or fall under a daze spell. The warrior mage armies of Dagös were all equipped with witchblades.

Caster Level: 5th
Prerequisites: Craft Magic Arms and Armor, daze
Market Price: 3,315 gp
Weight: 4 lbs.
