I had the good grace to serve up some treacherous beats at a ‘Pinerween’ party last night in my DJ i_rabbit debut. Spun broken-beat and jump-up for about 20-30 nice folks in the V.I.P. room at the Bad JuJu Lounge with DJs KTKTKT and Praxis. Good Times™
I have to give props to all my co-workers. They have wrapped the entire row of cubicles outside my office in brown construction paper and fabricated them into a giant pirate ship, cannons, shredded sails and all. Very impressive. There entirely too many ‘burners’ working here methinks…
My astrology guide had the time all wrong but I happened to notice the lunar eclipse beginning as I was parking last night. I have never seen a total lunar eclipse and was completely spellbound during the transformation. An angst filled day climaxed in a blood red orb, and as the moon returned to it’s regularly scheduled programming, I could feel the tensions dissolving around us.

Today’s Rune was Gebo, Partnership. I think of the many partnerships I have formed in the past, am now engaged in, and that are forming as you, dear reader, bear witness. The lines are not always clear, but when I compare and contrast the meanings of partner, partition, and the anglo word parcener, (all from a common root) it becomes clearer to me where my Te lies in the various relationships I am now engaged in. Should be a very interesting season of this mans life.

Today I face an unusual challenge in that I am participating in two pretty important meetings. First, I am having lunch with my partners other SO, and second, she is meeting Jo and the kids for the first time in an ‘intentional’ way. Not just in passing or by ‘googling’ a profile, but with the intent of actually sitting down and participating in each others lives, outside of just *us*. I know all parties are a little nervous (ok, a lot) about this. It is hard not to worry about the outcome of such important matters as the weaving together of two separate lives into one greater whole.
About a month ago I changed my habit of casting a three Rune spread in favor of just one ‘Rune of the day’. It has been interesting with the message almost *always* being relevant to the undercurrents of my life. Today I received Odin; the Blank Rune, the ‘unknowable’.
Blank is the end, blank the beginning. This is the Rune of total trust and should be taken as exciting evidence of your most immediate contact with your own true destiny which time and again, rises like the phoenix from the ashes of what we call fate.
The Blank Rune can portend a death. But the death is usually symbolic, and may relate to any part of your life as you are living it now. Relinquishing control is the ultimate challenge for the Spiritual Warrior.
Here the Unknowable informs you that it is in motion in your life. In that blankness is held undiluted potential. At the same time pregnant and empty, it comprehends the totality of being, all that is to be actualized.
Drawing the Blank Rune brings to the surface our deepest fears: Will I fail? Will I be abandoned? Will it all be taken away? And yet our highest good, our truest possibilities and all our fertile dreams are held within that blankness.
Willingness and permitting are what this Rune requires, for how can you exercise control over what is not yet in form? This Rune calls for no less an act of courage than the empty-handed leap into the void. Drawing it is a direct test of Faith.
In one sense, the Blank Rune represents the path of karma- the sum total of what you have done and the limits on what you are and will become. At the same time, this Rune teaches that the very debts of old karma shift and evolve as you shift and evolve. Nothing is predestined; there is nothing that cannot be avoided. And if, indeed, there are “matters hidden by the gods,” you need only remember: What beckons is the creative power of the unknown.
Whenever you draw the Blank Rune, take heart: Know that the work of self-change is progressing in your life. ~ from the Book of Runes
