I just walked into Underdawg Records up on Lower Queen Anne like I usually do after lunch on the hill. I like to scour the $3.99 bin in search of lost and new-found treasures. The guys that work there have great taste and often play stuff I’ve never heard before. Today was one of those days. It reeked of new-found treasure the moment I walked in.

When I returned I quickly began ripping and entering words into Google. I found everything I was searching for and more! Sadly however I also discovered that I stumbled upon this information too late as the band was just in Seattle at Dimetrio’s Jazz Alley two weeks ago. Next time for sure. I did make note of the fact that they will soon be in NYC at the Village Vanguard and sent advance warning to friends, family, and relations in those Brooklyny and Woodstocky parts.

I am inspired. I want to play music again. Something like The Living Daylights, meets Siamese, meets this band; The Bad Plus. Which is to say; Eclectic Electric for sure. A modern quartet with bed head and jazz sensibility. Hey that’s it! I’ll call it BedHed.
