Eureka!
I found the end of the internet today!
In one of history’s more absurd acts of totalitarianism, China has banned Buddhist monks in Tibet from reincarnating without government permission…the law effectively gives Chinese authorities the power to choose the next Dalai Lama, whose soul, by tradition, is reborn as a new human to continue the work of relieving suffering.
Away from their profundity of surface
The bees are buzzing,
Reshaping magnified, each risen flake
From point to point of meaning—open? closed?
—to try that, to hold a terrifying beast
He is harsh, dismal, ice—that is, exiled;
and preening, dancing on the basepaths,
Among us, only Alberti, then Sangallo,
The surge of swirling wind defines
Only whirled snow heaped up by whirled snow,
Cuts out of its width Unfair
Thinking of your abiding spirit brings
Against this sky no longer of our world.
References, Shadows keep piling up as surfaces
I draw near to one of them, the lowest,
Green lilac buds appear that won’t survive
From which, thanks to symmetry,
Along the walls are only empty niches
Eve and I have moved most of our stuff into the new house. Polly and her friend Mari wasted no time tearing into Eve’s old Barbie collection and played for hours in their new basement chill space. We love the feel of the place and have met our neighbors on either side - nice folks all. Nate is now two blocks from his guitar teacher and practicing more than ever. We will be having a ‘Barbie Disaster Relief Fund’ (house warming) soon and I’ll have more pics up as we settle in and get all the boxes out.
