Evie and I are off to Paris tomorrow where Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso will grant the empowerment of the Great Mother Prajnaparamita for the very first time in the west.

Prajnaparamita is the embodiment of the Wisdom Truth Body of all the Buddhas, the Great Wisdom Mother who gives birth to all enlightened beings. By relying upon her and engaging in her practice, which includes reciting the Heart Sutra, we can develop the inner strength to overcome all outer and inner hindrances to attaining pure happiness, as well as all obstacles that hinder our progress to liberation and enlightenment.

In Tim Barris’ book “The 4-hour Work Week”, he gives as a personal growth challenge that you identify at least one person who is a leader in your chosen field and contact them via email as a step toward establishing a relationship with them as your mentor. One of the people I identified holds the Guinness World Record as the “fastest drummer alive” (1071 single strokes in 60 seconds) and is a respected author, clinician, inventor and active drumjockey at large - Johhny Rabb. He is also my new mentor as I will begin studying with him every other Thursday via Skype - yay me!
