Eve and I have moved most of our stuff into the new house. Polly and her friend Mari wasted no time tearing into Eve’s old Barbie collection and played for hours in their new basement chill space. We love the feel of the place and have met our neighbors on either side - nice folks all. Nate is now two blocks from his guitar teacher and practicing more than ever. We will be having a ‘Barbie Disaster Relief Fund’ (house warming) soon and I’ll have more pics up as we settle in and get all the boxes out.

It has been a while since I have found time to sit and write an entry. Why, even ‘high. coup.’ has even been on hiatus. Mostly been busy finishing up all the sorting and shedding of old things and making way for the new. The tent is all clear; truck, car, scooter, tools - all for sale. Yesterday, I bought a new motorcycle. Evie says it’s pure hooliganism, but it’s all good, she likes her boy to have an edge;) It’s a fine piece of German engineering at a 2004 price and really quite practical @ 80+ mpg. I’ve never owned anything this “new” before… Brrraapp!

The hot water has been out for a week.

Update 3/17: John the plumber came and checked it all out. He pointed out that the design of the inline heaters requires a filter for the incoming water, something traditional designs do not. Apparently our local water has a lot of rust particles due to the old iron supply lines and the filter had become clogged. It will probably do this every few months and I’ll know when it’s time to clean it when I notice a pressure drop (I did before it went out). Easy thing to do. $1000 water heaters know when to turn themselves off for safety reasons - someday soon they will call to tell me its time to check the filter…

If I DON’T TAKE A STEP UP back on THE CAREER LADDER SOON, IT ALL COMES TUMBLING DOWN…

Starting to look more like rooms than skeletons. After several detours with builders and electricians, the bathroom is finally ready for tile work to begin, floor first then shower surround. Wrapping the loft too - the new window makes soo much difference up there!

My contractors have finally kicked it into high gear after a motivational phone call on Thursday. The entry way, including front door and window, is done. Today they finished the ‘climbing wall’, which divides the ‘living’ space from what will remain ’shop’ space, and nailed the runners for the ceiling. Monday they start on the drywall and the remaining four windows. I have been on hold in the bathroom waiting for the window so I can sheetrock, so I can tile, so I can install fixtures, etc. Frustrating dependency chain sometimes but its coming together. I had to move my bed down into what will be the living room last weekend in order to rearrange and fasten the floor permanently. Its starting to feel more house-like everyday. This weekend I have electrical stuff and framing in the loft to finish off. Looks like about two-three more weeks of work till I have a functioning kitchen and bath and four more weeks till i_party time.
