TAMA HARDWARE, PEDALS, ETC.

I recently updated all my hardware with Tama gear, including pedals, from the Roadpro and Stagemaster series - I like their lighter weight gear as it is really sturdy and easy on the back (and wallet). I use Vater Drumsticks in 7a, 5a, or the ‘Jazz Ride’ models. For heads, I like 2-ply clear heads on top, 1-ply clear on the bottom, with very little muffling, sometimes just a small piece of gaffer’s tape folded over. The new Evans EC2 heads sound great in the basement studio (concrete) with a phat attack and nice low end. I prefer coated heads on the snare and the new Evans EC Reverse Dots are articulate, responsive, and focused. On the kick drum I have been liking the Evans EMAD 2 head on the beater side with the smaller foam ring, the stock Taye head on the front, with no other muffling.
